Green Beret/Yarborough

Every U.S. Army Special Forces soldier is issued with a knife known as the "Yarborough" upon graduation from SF Qualification Course. The knife is named in honor of General William P. Yarborough, frequently referred to as the "father of the Green Berets". Each Yarborough is engraved with the name Yarborough and a serial number.

Designed by Bill Harsey and manufactured by Chris Reeve Knives to be both a tool and a weapon, the Yarborough was the winning design from a field of nearly 100 different contenders.

Its full-tang construction is made from CPM S30V steel, an alloy that has greater strength than 154CM, as well as superior edge-holding ability. All surfaces are coated with KG GunKoteTM , a baked-on non-reflective corrosion-resistant finish. The handles are canvas Micarta, chosen for its toughness, chemical resistance, and wet-grip capabilities.
